Thursday evening sewing classes for intermediate children
These sewing classes will be teaching children:
- How to thread, use safely and fix essential issues on a sewing machine.
- How to sew a variety of projects such as bags, clothes, accessories in diverse type of fabrics.
- Learning sewing techniques such as zips and pockets and more.
- Reading sewing patterns, using dressmaking tools, taking body measurements…
- Developing their personality and discovering their own style
- Sharing time with other humans and be respectful of themselves and of others,
- Celebrating our differences
- Understanding the fast Fashion industry and the challenges that we face and how to play our part to protect the Planet
- Having fun!
Once you get a place in this weekly workshop, your child’s space is secure. Payments run on a half term basis and you will be notified by email when the next payment is due. Usually every 6 weeks, £72 (but it may vary, first term might be 8 weeks long when May might only be 5). If you need to leave, please give us a full term notice.
When your child reaches year 9 and decide to take on DoF Silver/Bronze and Gold, I am happy to be their “new skill” mentor. Same applies to young people who would like to take GCSE Textiles: our Tuesday group is geared towards these young people.
Will be included: Sewing machine and all haberdashery.
